October 2011- November 2013 Associate Director of Jonathan Creek Christian Camp in Benton, KY
As the Associate director of this 900 bed year-round camp ministry I learned a lot about operating full program camps as well as water activities which this camp was heavy on. I oversaw all of the day-to-day operations, and put out any fires that came about. I enjoyed having the opportunity to minister to the individual youth pastors and youth leaders as my role put me in close interaction with them. Having a strong background in recreation and activities, helped me oversee all of the camp fun such as an extensive boating/tubing program on Kentucky lake and a 300 capacity private rec lake with an extensive array of inflatables, waterslides, and zip lines. Hiring, training, and supporting the summer staff of 65 was one of the most enjoyable times I have ever had. Filling in for a few months while we were between food service directors, I was able to learn my way around the kitchen, and daily serving with our facilities director helped me learn how to support his department.
