November 2000-May 2001, Manager at Bogey's Golf and Family Entertainment Center in Memphis, TN.
Duties included: All customer service issues, managing and supervising shifts of up to 15 employees, running hourly profit computer reports, booking parties, inventory and ordering of food items, counting and depositing money daily, and opening and closing duties for the entire 5 million dollar facility.
During my senior year of college, I was required to complete 300 hours in an internship position with a business that was in line with my major. I was hired as the manager of Bogey's Golf which is similar to a Putt Putt Golf Center in that it has miniature golf, video arcades, food services, rental party rooms, golf driving range, go-karts, bumper boats, children's rides, etc. The fast paced money making machine was good experience for me to stretch and grow my management skills, but not my cup of tea. At any given time I could be dealing with an upset customer, booking groups, counseling a new employee, completing an hourly profit report, making a staff schedule, or correcting a cashier error.
For my college internship credit, I was required to conduct numerous projects for this company, most noteworthy was my 18 page risk management assessment of the entire facility and a new waiver that I wrote for users of the go-karts that provided greater legal protection for the organization.
