1999-2000 1 1/2 years as a full time maintenance worker for the Mid South Baptist Conference Center in Memphis, TN.
Duties included grounds keeping, dishwashing, guest services, meal service, maintenance work, housekeeping, and summer staff supervision. During this time I was in College and was able to complete many of my college projects using this camp as the subject for surveys, risk management plans, budget assessments, and many other assignments.
My planning ahead for my career in Christian camp ministry led me to get this job while in college Unfortunately, when my senior year came around, I was required to complete an internship and the university dictated that I could not keep my existing job for this internship. I was forced to resign to complete my internship at a new company. I found a local business that would be the most applicable to a camp setting, and that was Bogey's Golf and Family Entertainment Center (similar to a Putt Putt Golf Center).
